When it comes to wedding photography, most couples want to capture the beautiful moments of their big day. But sometimes, the best parts of your big day are the ones that made you (and your guests) giggle. Looking back on the funny wedding photos can be so nostalgic and help you remember the celebration part of all that you planned for that day! If you’re thinking about incorporating some funny shots into your wedding album, make sure you follow these dos and don’ts.
One big do is to make sure that everyone in the photo is game. If you’re going to be funny, you need to involve your partner and wedding party in on the joke. That means getting their approval before the big day so that they’re prepared (and willing) to take part in your funny antics. Another do is to keep it lighthearted. This is supposed to be a fun memory, not something that will cause arguments or hurt feelings down the road.
If forced jokes aren’t your thing, then steer clear of them altogether. It’s not worth trying to be someone you’re not on the most important day of your life. Enjoy your friends, have some good and REAL laughs and you are sure to get great memories that will last you a lifetime.
When it comes to funny wedding photos, the sky is the limit! If you have a vision for a funny pose or concept, go for it! But if you’re stuck, there are plenty of ideas out there. A quick Pinterest search will give you all kinds of inspiration, from couples who staged their first dance as a fight to those who recreated classic movie scenes.
Your wedding day is supposed to be a classy affair, so keep the humor clean. The last thing you need is Grandma blushing when she takes a peek at the wedding album. That means no photos that are too risque or could be interpreted as offensive.
If you’re really stuck, ask your photographer for ideas. They should be able to help you come up with a few funny concepts that will fit your personality as a couple. This is a great thing to cover in your interview phone call. The most important thing to remember is to have fun! These photos are supposed to be a reflection of your personality as a couple and a way to build special and happy memories to look back on for years to come.
So there you have it, some funny dos and don’ts for your wedding day! Just remember to keep it lighthearted, involve everyone in on the joke, and make sure it’s something you’re both comfortable with.
