Alicia & Edward’s Engagement Session at Addison Oaks Buel Estate
It was a perfect evening at the beautiful Addison Oaks Buel Estate, where Alicia and Edward’s love story came to life in front of my lens. The light was golden, the grounds were peaceful, and the two of them brought such a natural, effortless energy to the shoot—it felt less like work and more like being part of a really good story.
Addison Oaks, with its historic charm and sweeping landscapes, offered the perfect canvas for their session. Alicia and Edward were completely themselves, which made everything feel so genuine. One of my favorite parts of the evening? They brought along a cribbage board and some cold beer and settled in for what felt like a good old-fashioned date night. It was relaxed, fun, and such a true reflection of who they are as a couple—laid-back, full of laughs, and completely in sync with each other.
Capturing those candid moments—Edward calculating his next move, Alicia laughing at a lucky hand, both of them just soaking in the time together—was a reminder of what engagement sessions are really about: celebrating the everyday magic between two people who are best friends at heart.
What made this session even more meaningful to me is that I had the honor of photographing Edward’s sister Liana’s wedding a few years ago. It’s always so rewarding when couples recommend me to their family and friends. Being invited back into a family’s life for another milestone is one of the highest compliments I can receive, and I’m grateful every time it happens.
Their wedding is set for October 3, 2025, at the historic Henry Ford Museum—and I already know it’s going to be unforgettable. The museum’s rich history and grand architecture will be the perfect setting for what promises to be a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and a lot of heart.
Until then, I’ll be thinking back on this easygoing, heartfelt evening with Alicia and Edward—playing cribbage, sipping beer, and being completely themselves. I can’t wait to tell the next chapter of their story.
