January 29, 2026
Carolyn and Steven’s winter wedding on January 23, 2026 was the kind of day that reminds you why winter weddings hold such a special kind of magic. Elegant, emotional, and filled with meaningful moments from start to finish, their celebration at The Treasury in Pontiac, Michigan was nothing short of unforgettable.
The day began with Carolyn getting ready, surrounded by the quiet excitement and beautiful details that make those early hours so special. From carefully chosen accessories to final touches of hair and makeup, every detail felt intentional and deeply personal—setting the tone for the day ahead.
From there, we made our way to The Treasury, where Carolyn and Steven shared one of the most memorable moments of the day: their first look in the historic basement vault. Once a functioning bank vault from the early 20th century, The Treasury is a restored neoclassical building that originally served as one of Pontiac’s financial landmarks. With its marble details, soaring ceilings, and preserved architectural elements, the space blends timeless history with modern elegance. The vault itself, tucked beneath the building, carries an undeniable sense of character—making it the perfect, intimate setting for such an emotional first look.
Afterward, we stepped outside for a few photos near the Strand Theatre, taking advantage of Pontiac’s historic charm before heading to St. Vincent de Paul Church for the ceremony. Despite the cold January air, the day surprised us all with brilliant sunshine. As the sun poured through the church windows, it created the most stunning light—truly the kind photographers and couples dream of. The warmth of the light paired beautifully with the heartfelt vows, making the ceremony feel even more sacred and unforgettable.
Following the ceremony, we returned to The Treasury for cocktail hour and additional detail photos. The glow of the space in the evening light, combined with thoughtful décor and historic textures, created an atmosphere that felt both grand and welcoming.
After dinner, the evening began with touching parent dances—Carolyn sharing a heartfelt dance with her father, followed by Steven dancing with his mother. Then came Carolyn and Steven’s first dance, a moment full of joy and connection. And from there, the celebration truly took off. There is nothing quite like live music at a wedding, and Blue Water Kings absolutely delivered. The dance floor stayed packed all night, with energy, laughter, and nonstop celebration.
Before I left for the evening, we stepped back outside near the theater one last time—where Carolyn surprised Steven with an incredible final touch: their names glowing on the Strand Theatre marquee. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with thoughtful surprises and meaningful moments.
A heartfelt thank you to The Doig family for trusting me to be part of such a beautiful and special day. Carolyn and Steven’s wedding was a true winter dream, and one I won’t soon forget. 💙❄️
