What a beautiful day for Emiley and Nathan’s August 28, 2026 wedding at Lapeer Country Club!

Their ceremony took place indoors in front of the country club’s massive bank of windows overlooking the golf course and beautiful Lake Nepessing. It made for an incredible backdrop as Emiley and Nathan exchanged their vows surrounded by their family and friends. The ceremony was beautiful, meaningful, and filled with so much love.

One of my favorite moments came at the very end of the ceremony. As Emiley and Nathan made their way back down the aisle during the recessional, Nathan stopped and gave Emiley a perfect dip! It was such a fun moment and made for an awesome photo to celebrate the beginning of their marriage.

Once the ceremony was finished, we moved into family photos. I always feel that family photos are such an important part of a wedding day. Many times, a wedding is one of the only occasions in years when the entire family is together in one place. Having those photographs becomes even more meaningful as time goes on, and I always make sure we take the time to capture them.

One location that was high on Emiley’s must-have photo list was the beautiful group of weeping willow trees toward the back of the golf course. When we arrived, the timing could not have been better. The sun was just beginning to come underneath the trees, creating some absolutely gorgeous light.

One thing I have learned over my 22 years of photography is that timing is everything! Sometimes just a few minutes can completely change the look of a photograph, and on this day we hit it perfectly. The light, the trees, and Emiley and Nathan all came together for some of my favorite images of the day.

After we nailed the willow tree photos, we headed back to the clubhouse for the grand entrance and cake cutting. Later in the evening, we slipped outside again just in time for some amazing sunset photos. The sky and light gave us another beautiful opportunity to create some memorable portraits before heading back inside for the formal dances.

And speaking of the dancing—check out the perfect lift Emiley and Nathan pulled off during their first dance! They absolutely nailed it, and it was such a fun moment to photograph.

Emiley and Nathan, thank you so much for allowing me to be a small part of such a big and important day in your lives. It was an honor capturing these memories for you, and I wish you both many years of happiness, laughter, and love together!
