Kayla and Parker’s spectacular New Year’s Eve wedding at Addison Oaks Buel Estate was the perfect way to ring in a new year full of love, joy, and unforgettable moments.
The day began with Kayla getting ready alongside all of her stunning details. If you have never stepped inside the bridal suite at Addison Oaks, let me tell you—it is hands down one of the most beautiful bridal suites in all of Metro Detroit. The natural light, elegant design, and calm atmosphere made it the perfect space for Kayla to transform into the most beautiful bride. Every detail photographed effortlessly, setting the tone for an incredible day ahead.
Once Kayla was ready, I headed over to the groom’s suite to photograph Parker as he prepared for the big moment. Shortly after, Kayla and Parker shared one of the most emotional parts of the day as they opened letters from each other. Tears flowed freely, and it was so clear just how deeply these two love one another. Moments like these are always some of my favorites—quiet, genuine, and incredibly meaningful.
From Addison Oaks, we made our way to St. John Vianney Catholic Church for the ceremony. Everyone in attendance witnessed a beautiful exchange of love between Kayla and Parker. The church photographed beautifully, with stunning natural light pouring in from the ceiling, creating a timeless and elegant backdrop for their vows.
After the ceremony, I hopped on the party bus back to Addison Oaks to capture the bridal party getting primed for the reception. And when you have a winter wedding, what do you hope for? SNOW. And yes—we got it. Perfect snow globe flurries filled the air. It was cold, so we started with the guys, then brought out the girls, followed by group photos. These ended up being some of my all-time favorite winter wedding images.
Once the bridal party warmed up inside, I spent some quiet time photographing Kayla and Parker in the snow—just the two of them, soaking it all in. We then moved indoors to take advantage of the beautiful historic settings Addison Oaks offers. The iconic staircase and bench in the middle of the staircase are always a must, and I loved using unique angles to capture that space in a fresh way.
The evening continued with a grand entrance, heartfelt toasts, and speeches filled with laughter and emotion. Then came my favorite part of the day—their first dance. This dance had it all: spins, turns, and lifts, all wrapped in pure joy. You could truly see the love between Kayla and Parker as they shared their first dance as husband and wife.
And what would a New Year’s Eve wedding be without an actual countdown? Thanks to Mike from Sound Bound, everyone stayed updated all the way down to midnight. With hats, cheers, and all the classic ways to ring in the new year, the energy was absolutely electric. When midnight finally hit, we celebrated big with the newlyweds, officially welcoming the new year together.
I want to send a huge thank you to Kayla and Parker for trusting me to be part of such an incredible day. Your New Year’s Eve wedding was truly unforgettable, and it was an honor to capture every moment.
